About Shay
I have been tutoring online for over 5 years. One of my greatest joys is tutoring and helping students achieve their academic goals. I have helped countless numbers of students ace their course as well as perform well on the DAT and MCAT exams. Many of my students have been accepted to Medical, Dental and Veterinary Schools. I helped teach Organic Chemistry for 3 years while in undergrad. I had a group tutoring class twice a week. Not only did I get an A both semesters in Organic, I also got one of the highest grades in the class. I helped many premed students get accepted into medical school and gave them the tools to help them in all subjects. In addition I also received the highest grade in my college Biology course and was president of the math honors society, KME. I am overjoyed to see my students succeed. Overall I'm a pretty easygoing and laid-back guy. It's important that my students are at ease so their mind is open to the learning process. Eliminating worry and stressful thinking is key however the student must stay on task and prioritize what needs to be completed in a timely fashion. I teach students how to optimize their study time so they can study successfully, not desperately. Ultimately I teach students the way I taught myself.

I absolutely love helping students learn in a way that is suited to them. My lessons typically start with an introduction followed by a quick assessment of the student's needs and current understanding of the course material. Once identified we start with an explanation of the concepts, then a demonstration of problem solving followed by the performance of practice problems. By guiding a student gradually through various problems with different parameters I ensure that they know the concepts as well as understand the problem-solving process perfectly. My students leave our sessions with a greater understanding as well as increased confidence in their own ability to perform.
