About Aditi

I'm Aditi, I'm a 2nd year medical student currently thriving at King’s College London, offering UCAT tutoring for any students applying to medicine or dentistry.

I sat the UCAT myself, where I achieved 3160 with a Band 1 SJT.

My breakdown was as follows:
880 in Quantitative Reasoning
810 in Decision Making
750 in Abstract Reasoning
720 in Verbal Reasoning.

As Abstract Reasoning has now been removed from the UCAT, my score using the current scored sections would be 2410 out of 2700, with Band 1 in SJT.

I have experience individually tutoring both Maths and UCAT, paid and unpaid, as well as through supported school programmes. Here, I have developed my teaching style, created useful resources, and understood the common mistakes and difficulties students often face when preparing for the UCAT.

Overall, my aim is to provide a well-rounded and personalised approach that prepares students for each aspect of the UCAT.

About the lesson

I can offer section-by-section support for Verbal Reasoning, Decision Making, Quantitative Reasoning and Situational Judgement, as well as overall UCAT strategy, mock question practice, timing techniques and exam preparation.

My lessons are suitable for any student preparing for the UCAT, from students who have just started preparation as well as those looking to improve their score closer to the exam.

My lessons are personalised, usually lasting between 1 and 1.5 hours depending on student preference. Before any planned lessons, I will always talk with my student to discuss their current perceived knowledge level, their goals, and their known areas for improvement. From there, I pre-plan and tailor the lesson around their weaknesses and strengths. This may mean teaching areas from scratch, or simply refining timing and improving my student’s current working strategies.

A typical lesson is normally structured by starting with a small set of practice questions together and identifying common mistakes or uncertainties. From there, I will go through key concepts and techniques with teaching materials I have prepared, picking out what is important for my student, and using questions throughout to apply and strengthen understanding. At the end, I recap and test my student's understanding of what we have covered, and usually assign some "homework" before our next session. This can include targeted questions or timing practice with mock mini-tests.

I also like to spend a few minutes going over each student’s revision plan at home, so they can make sure their independent study is just as effective as their tutoring sessions. Further, I foster open discussion with students, so they feel comfortable being honest about what they find difficult and what teaching styles work best for them.

For me, it is important to help students understand exactly how to approach each style of question, rather than just memorising answers or relying on a few common question patterns.
