About Sam

I’m a passionate and approachable tutor who enjoys helping students build both their confidence and their understanding of a subject. I am currently in my third year at University of Leeds studying International History and Politics. I have experience working as both a tutor and a teaching assistant, which has given me the opportunity to support students with a range of abilities and learning styles. Seeing students overcome challenges and achieve goals they once thought were out of reach is one of the most rewarding parts of teaching.

History is a major passion of mine, and my teachers at school inspired me to pursue it at a university level. I believe it is a truly fascinating subject, but I also understand that not every student will naturally share the same enthusiasm. For those who are primarily focused on achieving the grades they need, I aim to make the subject engaging, accessible, and relevant while helping them build the knowledge and skills needed to reach their goals.

Focused on delivering the most effective methods for academic progression, understanding, and revision all while maintaining enjoyment, engagement, and enthusiasm.

I offer tuition for students in History up to A Level. Lessons would typically be 1 hour online, but I am flexible depending on each child’s desires.

The reason I achieved success studying history was through the engaging and personal teaching I received which captivated my young self. As a tutor and teacher, I always aim to replicate what I learnt from my teachers, by creating interactive, supportive, and tailored lessons for each pupil, whether they are aiming to boost their confidence, improve their grades, or prepare for exams.
