About Rosaleen
Hi, I’m Rosaleen. I am a Dean’s List Computer Science and Statistics student at McGill University with more than four years of experience tutoring programming.
I graduated high school with a 100% average and a national merit scholarship. Since then, I have focused on helping students master coding by turning complex topics such as recursion, object-oriented programming, and data structures into clear, step-by-step explanations that finally “click”.
I teach entirely online and work with students across Canada, the United States, and internationally, from Paris to Madrid to London. All you need is your computer, and together we will make programming understandable and genuinely enjoyable.

My lessons are practical, interactive, and fully tailored to your coursework needs. Every student comes in with different assignments, lectures, or concepts that feel confusing, and that is exactly where I step in.
Here’s what you can expect:
1. Tailored Roadmap: From beginner Python to advanced algorithms, lessons are adapted to your pace, goals, and syllabus.
2. Coursework Support: Stuck on an assignment or unsure about a concept from class? We’ll go through your PowerPoints, notes, or teacher explanations together until everything makes sense.
3. Hands-On Coding: We’ll work directly in coding environments (IDEs, Jupyter notebooks, online platforms) so you learn by doing.
4. Conceptual Clarity: I break down what’s happening “under the hood,” so you understand not just the syntax but the logic.
5. Applied Learning: When helpful, we’ll reinforce concepts through mini-projects (e.g., scripts, small apps, or data exercises) that connect your coursework to real-world uses.

I’m happy to recommend Rosaleen as a tutor on Superprof. Rosaleen started helping my daughter, Emily, with high school math about six months ago when she was really struggling with the subject.
Right from the start, Rosaleen’s friendly and patient approach made a big difference. She takes the time to explain things in a way that makes sense and always finds ways to relate math problems to real-life situations, which makes learning more interesting and less intimidating for Emily.
One time, Emily had a big math test coming up, and she was really nervous. Rosaleen didn’t just stick to the usual tutoring schedule; she arranged extra sessions and made sure Emily understood everything she needed to know. She didn’t just focus on the hard stuff, but also helped her build confidence by going over the basics and showing her she could do it.
Rosaleen has a strong background in math with her degree and several years of tutoring experience, but what really stands out is how much she cares about her students. She’s not just there to help with homework; she’s really invested in seeing them succeed and gain confidence in their abilities.
Since working with Rosaleen, Emily’s grades have improved, but more importantly, she’s much more confident in her math skills. She’s even started to enjoy the subject, which I never thought I’d see!
Rosaleen is a great tutor who truly supports her students. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for help with math.I have been going to Rosaleen for tutoring help for my sons since last October. One is in elementary, my other son is in high school. Before coming to her, my two sons had immense difficulty understanding the math and science concepts. Thanks to her though, she’s helped my son understand each and every concept. They’ve become so much more confident in their learning abilities because she’s been so patience with them and she really cares about her students.
She goes through the concepts, does homework questions together, and then gives them a few questions to do on their own so she can provide feedback and ensure they thoroughly understand the work! I would definitely recommend Rosaleen to anyone looking for an amazing tutor on a budget! :)View more recommendations
