About Martin

I started having piano lessons in 2009, I was inspired after seeing other pianists play and I had friends who would rewrite and play gaming music.
As well as this, both my parents are classically trained musicians. Still to this day they practise various styles of music.

I have grade 8 piano, grade 5 music theory, grade 3 violin,
A level in music and A level in music technology.

I have been playing piano for 17 years and the violin for 2 years.
I have been casually teaching since 2022, gaining confidence and an array of skills for my students. In 2026 I decided to become a professional piano tutor.

- I am constantly challenging myself to go further with my own music education, with both instruments, theory and even casually looking into composition and ensembles.
I play piano for local churches, and have played for weddings and funerals.
When I'm not playing piano I'm playing the violin, and if not that then I'm probably composing or listening to music whilst on a walk.

The level of passion I have for my own journey, is the same passion I want for my students. Showing up to your instrument daily because it brings you enjoyment, a purpose and confidence.

About the lesson

Starting with method books for those who want to be classically trained, I patiently and diligently go through every detail.
Each lesson I'll assess the progress of the students, learning about their strengths and weaknesses and tailoring each lesson to that need.

I also teach pianists and beginner violinists who like to play for churches, mostly with notation. If you have a musical family who'd like to push in this direction I would love to hear from you!

I teach students from age 8 and up but I'm willing to make exceptions for those who show a lot of focus and discipline.

Length of each lesson is 30 minutes to 1 hour.

Even though the rates suggested are hourly, - lessons can be split into 2 half-hour lessons.

Cancellation Policy. - Please pay 24 hours before the lesson or lesson block starts and give 24 hours notice if you need to cancel.
