About Nicholas
Hi! I’m based in New Zealand and am starting my journey as a Mandarin tutor. I want to help adult beginners feel more comfortable using Chinese in everyday situations and share an interest in Chinese language and culture.
I was born in Shanghai. So being a native speaker of Chinese, it's hard to understand a new language, but no worries, I'm here to help.

My online Mandarin lessons help adult beginners learn practical Chinese for everyday life. Lessons focus on pronunciation, useful vocabulary, and simple conversations, covering topics such as introductions, ordering food, and shopping.
Each lesson lasts 60 minutes and includes guided speaking practice, role-play, and a short review. I will adapt the pace to your needs and provide notes to help you practice between lessons.
I am new to formal tutoring, so I will prepare each lesson carefully and welcome your feedback. My aim is to create a relaxed, supportive space where you can ask questions and practise speaking without worrying about making mistakes.
