About Lucas
Throughout university I have used maths in a range of contexts, including numeracy and algebra, graphing and statistics. In addition, I have helped fellow students to understand difficult scientific and mathematical concepts by explaining them and working through example questions, both at school and university. I am determined to help you to achieve the exam results that you really want, allowing you to accomplish your ambitions after GCSE, and I am confident in my ability to achieve this with you. Hi! I'm Lucas and I'm a Biochemistry graduate from Cardiff University. I teach GCSE maths to foundation and higher tier students online in 1 hour (60 minute) lessons. I believe that everyone is capable of learning, applying and enjoying maths and I strive to make every lesson engaging, whilst delivering content in a way that is clear and understandable. Although I'm new to tutoring, I am very knowledgeable about maths and have studied this syllabus myself for GCSE, getting an A a year early and an A* at Further Maths GCSE. I also have a B grade at A Level! I have a student-focused approach to teaching, providing visual diagrams and additional explanations for tricky concepts, but will always adapt teaching to suit individual students. I will always encourage and aid the student to find the answers for themselves, whilst being there to provide guidance along the way. This will help the student to feel confident in their own mathematical abilities going forwards. I hope to see you in a lesson with me very soon!
