About Nikki
Hi, I'm Nikki! I am an English tutor from Malaysia with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology (Honors) and I am currently pursuing a Master's degree in Counseling.
My academic and professional experiences have allowed me to develop strong English communication skills, as well as the ability to understand and adapt to different learning styles. I believe that a comfortable and supportive environment helps students build confidence in expressing themselves naturally in English, which is something I strive to provide.
As a speaker who can communicate in Malay, Mandarin (Conversational), and Hokkien (Conversational), I can assist with translating/explaining any concepts, words, or sentences if needed.
I hope to make English learning an enjoyable and encouraging experience for students of different backgrounds and levels!

Hi, I'm Nikki! I'm an English tutor who believes that the best way to improve fluency is through natural conversations and consistent practice. Learning a language is not just about memorizing grammar rules but rather it's about building the confidence to express yourself naturally.
I recently graduated from a Bachelor's degree in Psychology (Honors) and will be pursuing a Master's degree in Counseling later in 2026.
My lessons are focused on improving conversational English, fluency, and confidence. We will usually choose a topic before the session and use it as a starting point for discussion. Topics can be based on your interests (i.e. music, movies, books, hobbies, current events, or any subject you enjoy). If there is a topic I am unfamiliar with, I will take time to prepare beforehand so that our conversation feels natural.
If you are unsure what to talk about, I am also happy to guide the conversation and provide topics based on your interests and goals. My own interests include reading, watching films and television shows, and exploring different types of music, so there will always be something for us to discuss.
I want you to feel comfortable speaking without worrying too much about making mistakes. I will provide corrections when needed, especially when something affects clarity or natural expression, but my main focus is helping you communicate confidently. I am also happy to explain alternative ways to phrase sentences and help you understand how native speakers might express certain ideas.
My lessons are suitable for learners who want to practice conversational English, improve their fluency, and become more comfortable using English in everyday situations. Open to anyone from the age of 13, however if you or your child is younger, I am open to discussing how that will go.
