About Soumya
Hi! My name is Soumya. I offer classes for English Language and English Literature to middle school and high school students.
I believe that I will be able to help you improve your skills in English Language/Literature due to my experience learning and teaching the two subjects. I have studied both of them from the Cambridge International (CIE) board during high school and scored an A* in English Language and an A in English Literature. I have also received an offer to study English Literature at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, in September 2023.

Hi! I'm available to teach English Language and/or Literature to high school and middle school students at beginner, intermediate and advanced levels. I customise my classes to each learner's needs, but the areas I generally focus on are as follows:
For English language - improving writing skills by eliminating common grammatical errors and focusing on different types of texts; and working on reading comprehension by understanding how to approach and analyse a variety of unseen texts. I am also willing to provide speaking and/or listening classes if needed.
For English Literature: steps and methods to analyse poetry, prose and/or drama; how to write a literary essay & the steps to structure the same; how to choose and analyse quotes; how to analyse unseen texts.
Classes are held on Zoom. I teach using a combination of notes and worksheets, with a high emphasis on practice and feedback. My teaching materials and class structure are taken using Cambridge English materials for middle- & high school, of which I was a student, although I can adjust according to the needs of boards like CBSE and ICSE.
