Teaching Methods & Techniques
I specialize in taking complex math problems and breaking them down into highly detailed, step-by-step explanations. I don't believe in just forcing students to memorize formulas. Instead, I focus on the "why" and "how" behind every single step.
My Typical Lesson Plan
Warm-Up (5–10 mins): We review previous assignments and clarify any lingering doubts from the school week.
Step-by-Step Breakdown (15–20 mins): I introduce the day's core concepts by walking through examples with exhaustive detail, ensuring there are absolutely no confusing logical jumps.
Guided Practice (15–20 mins): We tackle problems together. The student holds the pencil and drives the process, while I act as a guardrail to gently catch and correct missteps in real time.
Solo Check & Recap (10 mins): The student completes a final problem entirely on their own to prove mastery, followed by a quick recap of the day's wins.
What Sets Me Apart
As a 20-year-old student, I offer a unique "near-peer" dynamic that traditional teachers simply can't match. I am not decades removed from the modern curriculum—I have recently navigated these exact same classes, textbooks, and exam pressures. Because of this, middle and high school students tend to relate to me much faster. I speak their language and create a relaxed, low-stakes environment where they never feel embarrassed to ask "dumb" questions.
