About Nike

I am a senior at St. Olaf College with experience as a student tutor and a strong passion for helping others learn Spanish in a supportive and engaging environment. As a native Spanish speaker who has lived in four different countries, I bring both cultural understanding and real-world language experience into my lessons. I also have a platinum bilingual seal from the state of Minnesota.

My teaching style is patient, adaptable, and focused on building confidence. I understand that every student learns differently, so I tailor each lesson to match individual goals, skill levels, and learning styles. Whether you are just beginning or looking to improve your fluency, I aim to make lessons interactive, practical, and enjoyable.

In addition to tutoring experience, I also have childcare experience, which has helped me develop strong communication skills, patience, and the ability to work well with learners of all ages. I create a welcoming space where students feel comfortable practicing pronunciation, asking questions, and developing their Spanish skills step by step.

I take professionalism seriously and always strive to be organized, reliable, and encouraging so students can feel confident in their progress and supported throughout their learning journey.

About the lesson

My teaching approach is student-centered, interactive, and adapted to each learner’s goals and skill level. As a native Spanish speaker with childcare experience, I create a supportive and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable practicing and making mistakes while learning.

I begin lessons by building vocabulary related to everyday topics and real-life situations. Once students are familiar with key words and phrases, we focus on pronunciation, helping learners develop confidence speaking naturally and clearly. From there, lessons progress into sentence structure, grammar, and conversation practice so students can communicate effectively in both written and spoken Spanish.
