About Reagan
I am a FIDE Master and experienced chess player with over 10 years of competitive play at national and international levels. I achieved the FIDE Master title at the age of 15 and have since developed strong results in both junior and open tournaments. I am passionate about helping students improve their understanding of chess in a clear, structured, and practical way, with a focus on long-term development and real-game improvement.

With over 10 years of competitive experience, I bring both high-level playing experience and a practical understanding of how to improve efficiently. I aim to make lessons clear, organized, and goal-oriented so students always know what they are working towards.
I take a professional approach to teaching, with careful attention to each student’s needs, strengths, and areas for improvement. My goal is to create a positive learning environment where students feel supported, challenged appropriately, and motivated to continue improving over time.

My lessons are structured yet flexible, designed to meet each student’s level and specific improvement goals. At the beginning, I like to gain a clear understanding of which areas we should focus on and then tailor each lesson around a particular theme, whether that’s opening preparation, middlegame strategies, endgame techniques, or positional understanding.
A typical lesson lasts about 60 minutes. We often start by reviewing some recent games the student has played, and then we delve into the topic of the day. I prefer to explain concepts using practical examples and guide students through different positions, encouraging them to engage actively rather than just passively listening. I strive to keep our sessions interactive, allowing students to consistently apply what they’re learning.
My teaching style is straightforward and practical. I break down complex ideas into simple concepts that are easy to apply and remember.
Ultimately, my goal is to help students improve steadily by building strong fundamentals, enhancing their decision-making skills, and nurturing the confidence to apply their knowledge in real games.
