About Jasper

I am a research student at Oakland University specializing in History, Linguistics, and Sociology, with additional academic interests in law, public policy, and international affairs through future studies at the Institute of World Politics and Albany Law School. Beyond my academic work, I carry professional experience in legal, corporate, and educational environments, where I've developed strong skills in research, analysis, communication, and information management.

My goal as a tutor is to help students move beyond memorization and develop genuine understanding. I teach students how to analyze evidence, think critically, write persuasively, and approach difficult subjects with confidence. Whether we're discussing historical events, social institutions, language, or research methods, I focus on making challenging concepts clear, relevant, and engaging.

What sets me apart is my interdisciplinary perspective. I draw connections between history, society, culture, law, and language, helping students see the bigger picture rather than isolated facts. My lessons are welcoming, professional, and tailored to each student's goals, whether they're seeking academic support, exam preparation, stronger writing skills, or a deeper understanding of the world around them.

Above all, I believe that every student is capable of success when given the right tools, guidance, and encouragement. My role is to help students build the confidence and critical thinking skills that will serve them long after the lesson ends.

About the lesson

My teaching approach is built around curiosity, critical thinking, and practical application. Rather than relying on memorization, I help students understand how historical events, language, culture, and society connect to the world around them. Lessons are tailored to each student's goals, whether that means improving grades, preparing for exams, strengthening writing skills, or developing research abilities.

A typical lesson begins with identifying key concepts and areas of difficulty, followed by guided discussion, source analysis, and targeted practice. I encourage students to ask questions, challenge assumptions, and develop confidence in their own reasoning.

As a research student at Oakland University specializing in History, Linguistics, and Sociology, I bring an interdisciplinary perspective that helps students see connections across subjects. My future studies through the Institute of World Politics and Albany Law School further strengthen my focus on analysis, argumentation, and evidence-based thinking.

Lessons are ideal for high school, dual-enrollment, undergraduate, and adult learners seeking support in history, social sciences, academic writing, research methods, critical reading, and related subjects.
