About Roman
I'm a political science and economics honors student at New York University, where I maintain a 3.9 GPA. My qualifications run deeper than grades. I served as captain of my debate team and president of my chess club, roles that taught me how to break down complex problems, think under pressure, and communicate clearly, exactly the skills that help students succeed on standardized tests and in their writing. I'm also fully bilingual in English and Spanish, having spent a year studying abroad in Madrid.
I tutor because I genuinely enjoy helping students find the strategy and confidence that turn a difficult subject into a manageable one. I'm patient, organized, and committed to each student's progress, and I tailor my approach to fit individual goals and learning styles. Whether you're aiming for a higher test score, a stronger college essay, or better reading skills, I'll work with you and ensure that your goals are met.

My approach builds both skill and confidence. I start by diagnosing each student's strengths and gaps, then design a personalized plan targeting their weakest areas first for the fastest gains.
A typical lesson opens with a quick review, moves into focused instruction on a specific concept or question type, and ends with timed practice under real test conditions. I teach strategy as much as content: eliminating wrong answers, pacing, and avoiding common ACT and SAT traps.
Beyond test prep, I help with essay writing and college application essays, from brainstorming through revision, and offer reading help for children to build comprehension, vocabulary, and a love of reading.
What sets me apart is my recent success in these exams and at a competitive university, plus a debate and writing background that sharpens my coaching of essay and verbal sections. As a bilingual tutor, I also support English language learners with grammar and fluency.
My lessons fit high schoolers preparing for the ACT, SAT, and college applications, younger readers, and English learners. I adapt to each student's level, timeline, and goals
