About Charles
I am a teacher now thanks to help I received from tutors when I was in middle school. I was a double major in college in history and political science, while also working for an education organization called JumpStart. I've been working with students ever since and helping them achieve their goals. Many of my former students have gone off to college.

I was lucky to have tutors in the afterschool programs I attended as I child and I know I was able to excel in school because of them, despite hardships at home. Tutoring is an excellent opportunity to push yourself and develop healthy habits that can last a lifetime. In the past, I usually begin with helping students complete their homework. Providing individualized feedback allows me to help students improve their writing skills, especially spelling and grammar. I make sure students are fully addressing the prompts or answering the questions. If they are reading, I am there to help the understand words they may not know. In the past I've tutored English Language Learners and helped them improve their speaking abilities simply by having conversations. I have lots of different interests so there is usually one that resonates with my students and keeps them engaged.
