About Chris

Developing my artistic practice for over two decades, I bring both technical expertise and real-world teaching experience to every lesson. My goal is to help students build confidence, strengthen their skills, and achieve their individual artistic goals.

My students have had their work exhibited at some of New York City's most respected institutions, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), the Thurgood Marshall United States Courthouse, and the High School of Art & Design. Whether you're creating a portfolio, preparing for school, or simply looking to grow as an artist, I'll help you develop the skills and techniques needed to succeed.

My personal work is rooted in realism. In ceramics, I combine realistic forms with my own creative designs to produce both functional and sculptural pieces. My recent drawing practice has centered on the human figure, drawing inspiration from comic book artists and iconic characters such as the X-Men and Godzilla. I enjoy sharing these influences with students to demonstrate how strong technical foundations can support creativity, personal style, and imaginative storytelling.

About the lesson

I am an experienced arts educator based in New York City, offering personalized lessons for middle school, high school, and college students. I specialize in ceramics, including hand-building and wheel throwing, as well as drawing with charcoal and graphite. I also teach composition, color theory, art history and foundational art techniques.
