About Billy

Hi, I’m an English Literature graduate with a 2:1 bachelor’s degree from the University of Plymouth, and while my degree is in the arts, I also tutor GCSE Foundation Maths with over 175 hours of tutoring experience under my belt. I’m extremely passionate about making education accessible, stress-free, and even enjoyable for every student I work with. I’ve worked in schools supporting students in English, Maths, and Creative Writing, and have experience working closely with neurodivergent learners and those with additional needs. This has helped me develop adaptable teaching strategies that are 100% tailored to each student’s needs—because no two learners are the same. Whether you’re struggling with basic numeracy, exam confidence, or just need a clearer way to understand the maths content, I’m here to support you in reaching a grade you feel proud of—with as little pressure as possible. My sessions focus on building confidence, making things click, and finding a learning style that actually works for you. I’m fully DBS enhanced checked, and when I’m not tutoring, you’ll find me at a concert, listening to music, or reading fantasy books.

About the lesson

Achieved a 2:1 BA (Hons) in English Literature from the University of Plymouth in June 2025. While my academic background is in English, I have over 175 hours of tutoring experience, including working with students on GCSE Foundation Maths. I’ve supported learners in schools and online, including those who are neurodivergent or have additional learning needs. I’m skilled at breaking down tricky maths concepts into manageable steps, adapting lessons to different learning styles, and creating a safe, encouraging space where students can build confidence. I offer support with: GCSE Foundation Maths (all major exam boards) Basic numeracy skills and problem-solving strategies Exam technique and past paper practice Confidence-building for anxious learners Whether you're aiming for a pass, a grade boost, or simply want to stop dreading maths, I’ll tailor each session to your pace and goals. Rate: £20 per hour Available for online tutoring or in-person (if based in Plymouth)
