About Nikita
My name is Nikita and I am a 2nd year Chemical Engineering student at CPUT in Cape Town. I am passionate about tutoring because I went through the public school system myself and I know firsthand how many students get left behind simply because concepts are not explained properly. I believe every student is capable of doing well — they just need someone who explains things in a way that actually makes sense to them. Teaching gives me the opportunity to be that person, and there is nothing more rewarding than watching a student finally understand something they have been stuck on for months

Hi, I'm Nikita — a 2nd year Chemical Engineering student at CPUT. I went through the public school system myself, so I know exactly where students struggle and why. I don't just give answers — I make sure students actually understand what's happening and why, so they can solve problems on their own in a test or exam.
My approach:
I keep sessions relaxed but focused. I meet students where they are, not where the textbook expects them to be. I break concepts down step by step and I won't move on until it clicks. No rushing, no judgment.
Subjects I offer:
Maths, Physical Sciences, Physics, Chemistry, Life Sciences and English — for Grade 8 to 12.
Languages:
I teach in English and Xhosa, so students who think better in their home language are fully supported.
What to expect in a lesson:
We start by identifying exactly where the gap is. Then we work through it together — I explain, we practice, and I check understanding before we move on. I also help students with exam technique and how to approach questions they've never seen before.
Who my lessons are for:
Grade 8–12 students who are falling behind, want to improve their marks, or are preparing for midyear or final exams. I offer online sessions via Microsoft Teams or Zoom, and limited face-to-face slots in Cape Town.
