About Harriet

I am a lover of languages and culture. I have a degree for Portsmouth University in European Studies and French, and graduated from Chichester University with my PGCE Secondary MFL in 2020. During my teacher training I worked within 2 schools teaching both French and Spanish to students from ages 11 - 16 and further French to A-level students.
Furthermore I lived in France and was educated in the French school system from ages 10 to 18, then a further year when I was 26. I am therefore fully bilingual in spoken and written French.
In addition, I have recently been working as a learning support assistant in a school setting to both continue my professional development and in order to develop a deeper understanding of the various needs of individual learners.

About the lesson

I am an incredibly adaptable person, and I like to base my lessons on a student's individual needs in order to provide the best learning outcomes.
I use a structured method where learning is consistently built upon, with language learning I find this best. For example in part 1 you may learn a group of nouns and adjectives to do with transport, and in part 2 you will learn to incorporate these words into a grammatical structure to say how you will be travelling somewhere.
I am a very friendly and relaxed person, and I will cater lessons to the level and pace that best suits the student. I believe in forming good student- teacher relationships and making learning fun.
I have experience in teaching secondary school age pupils and some A-level, but I feel confident that I could be a great teacher and learning support provider to adults too.
Together we can explore all aspects of French language depending on what it is you are looking for!
