About Dario
Hi! I am a recently graduated neuroscience student from the University of Southern California. I am originally from the Midwest United States, but I currently live on Catalina Island. I will be traveling across Western and Central Europe for 5 months on a research trip, and thought I could help a few students on their academic journeys while I continue on my own. I believe a good tutor nurtures and encourages while maintaining a culture of independent student growth within the session environment. I achieve this balance through celebrating both the big and small victories, and keeping the student in charge of the session; a former professor of mine once said "a good tutor is a cane, not a crutch!"
A typical lesson plan starts with a check-in and review of what the student and I have been working on prior. After an introduction to today's key ideas, we will incorporate visual diagrams, mnemonic devices, theoretical and real-world examples, and interactive question sessions to assess knowledge retention.
Providing lessons for middle school math, and middle/high school biology, chemistry and anatomy.
