About Haekyung

NEC graduate (B.M. 2022, M.M. 2025) and professional violinist with major U.S. orchestral audition experience, including an appointment as a First Violin with The Phoenix Symphony. I’m also an experienced teacher (8 years), offering highly personalized lessons tailored to each student’s pace, personality, and goals. My teaching focuses on strong fundamentals—tone, intonation, bow control, rhythm, and efficient practice—then builds artistry, musical phrasing, and performance confidence.

Beyond technique, I care deeply about the person behind the instrument. My teaching philosophy is to help students become independent, confident musicians who can continue their musical journey in a healthy, positive direction even without my guidance. I don’t just tell you what to fix—I teach you how to listen, how to practice intelligently, and how to make your own musical decisions with clarity and confidence. My goal is for each student to feel supported, inspired, and empowered—so violin becomes not only something you improve at, but something you genuinely enjoy and carry with you for life.

About the lesson

I offer fully customized violin lessons tailored to each student’s pace, personality, and goals. My teaching is structured and results-driven, but always supportive—so students feel guided, motivated, and confident as they improve.

My foundation is strong fundamentals: posture, bow technique, left-hand setup, intonation, rhythm, and tone production. When these basics are solid, playing becomes easier, more reliable, and more enjoyable. From there, we build artistry—beautiful sound, musical phrasing, and expressive freedom—so you can truly enjoy making music, not just “practice.”

I also help students set clear goals and follow a practical plan (weekly targets, efficient practice methods, and step-by-step feedback). Whether you’re a beginner, an advanced student, or preparing for auditions, competitions, or youth orchestra placement, I will guide you with a personalized approach that supports real progress.
