About Raymond
Hi, I'm Raymond.
Helping others succeed is what drives me as a tutor. As a current Wellington College student who has excelled in NCEA Level 3 Math, I bring firsthand experience with the curriculum and assessment standards.
I received an NZ Scholarship in Calculus and achieved Excellence endorsement for NCEA Level 3 Calculus. Additionally, I earned an A* in both AS and A Level Cambridge Math during Year 11.
This year, I am taking the MATH198 university course and NCEA Level 3 Statistics as a Year 12 student. Math is my strongest subject, but I also excel in my other subjects. This year, I am taking multiple scholarships, including Physics, Chemistry, English, Statistics, and more.
I hope to elevate your grades to what you strive for.

I believe maths is best learned together! My tutoring style is patient and collaborative, breaking down complex problems into manageable steps. Drawing from my experience as a Wellington College Peer Tutor and in volunteer teaching roles, I create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions. I offer 1-2 hour lessons for students studying NCEA Levels 1, 2, and 3.
Let’s begin with a conversation to discuss:
- Your experience with the subject, including whether you enjoyed it, your grades, and your relationship with teachers.
- Your goals and what you want to achieve from tutoring.
- Your free time and how much you can commit to lessons and homework.
- Resources I can provide for your self-study and practice, like homework exercises from different textbooks and online sites.

Excellent! Raymond had provided some maths lessons for our teen. He is respectful, patient and has a calm nature. He took time to understand our teens needs, and adapted lessons accordingly. He also offered support beyond the lesson time and resources.

I’m in the same mathematics class as Raymond. Initially, I was surprised by the arrival of a new student in our accelerated mathematics class, as the group usually remains unchanged each year. Discovering that he was double accelerated, having completed NCEA Level 2 Mathematics in Year 10 and NCEA Level 3 Mathematics in Year 11, it shows just how advanced his understanding is. Despite being ahead of everyone else, Raymond is always willing to help his peers, clearly explaining difficult concepts and supporting others’ learning, which makes him an outstanding mathematics tutor.
As Raymond’s brother, I’ve seen firsthand the dedication he puts into mastering the crafts of mathematics, whether it is statistics or pure mathematics. He spends countless hours working through past papers and refining his understanding of complex concepts to achieve top marks. What I genuinely appreciate about him is his passion for helping others reach their full potential. He genuinely enjoys explaining ideas clearly and guiding students toward great results, showing that his dedication will make him a exceptional tutor.
