About Céline

I am a 28-year-old native speaker from the North East of France, and I have been living in London for over 5 years now.

I discovered the city in 2014 when I have landed a one-year placement in an Events and Marketing company. It was risky to sign a one-year contract in an ‘unknown city’. But now I can tell: it was the best decision I have ever made! I fell in love with London and I told myself I will move back here once I have graduated. I did. And I never left!

At the time, I extended my placement with an au pair job so that I could stay a little longer in my beloved city. That is where my first experience of tutoring started as I was assisting the kids with their French homework and practising oral comprehension and expression. Since then, I have regularly been helping friends and my partner to improve their French, and I have recently joined a charity as a volunteer where I am tutoring kids in needs.

But as you may have understood, teaching is not what I do for a living. I work in advertising as an Account Manager. I am not 'tutoring' my team, but I do train them. So, I know how important it is to create a friendly and safe environment for people to progress.

About the lesson

I believe each student is unique. For this reason, my teaching method is tailored to my students’ needs.

Depending on what you are looking to improve, we can focus tutoring sessions on oral expression or comprehension, reading, writing or vocabulary. My goal is really to help you practice and give you the keys to feel more confident with the language.

You have an exam coming up? No problem, we can focus on studying the elements you have not quite understood and ensure you break a leg on your upcoming test!

You are planning a trip to France and you really want to use your language skills, but you do not feel quite confident yet? I can help you practice expressions and comprehension, so you do not have any apprehensions when travelling to France.

Here is how our first session will be structured:
- Introduction of the tutor and the student. This intro will aim at knowing each other a bit better.
- We will then discuss your current French level. This step is key for me to understand your strengths and weaknesses, but also get an idea of what you like and dislike in the language learning process, so I can ensure I use a tutoring method that is relevant for you.
- Finally, we will define your goals and build a learning plan so you know what to expect of your tutoring sessions with me.

All in all, I want to create a friendly and safe environment for you to learn and achieve the best possible results.

In terms of medium, I will primarily be using online resources.

Happy to discuss discounts for larger bookings.

A 24h notice will need to be given if a student cannot attend a tuition.
