About Ninelle
Hello!
I am a first-year PhD candidate at the University of Glasgow. I grew up in southern Sweden and moved to Scotland four years ago to enjoy the beauty of the Highlands and to pursue a bachelor’s degree in computer science. I am an avid reader and am passionate about culture, history, education, and languages. I love meeting new people from all around the world and have a particular skill for finding interesting conversation topics with anyone I meet.

I believe the best way to truly learn a language is to live it. My lessons therefore focus on immersing students in a full hour of genuine Swedish, where they can actively use the language, build confidence, and pick up new vocabulary and grammar through relaxed, natural conversations. We might talk about their lives, jobs, studies, provided texts, or any other topic that interests them.
My teaching philosophy is to keep English out of the lesson as much as possible and instead encourage students to trust their abilities and develop creative strategies for communicating when they don’t yet know a word.
I have experience tutoring both complete beginners, such as students who have recently arrived in Sweden with no prior knowledge of the language, as well as more advanced learners who can already hold simple conversations and mainly need practice and gentle grammatical correction.
I am happy to adapt my teaching style to each student’s skill level and goals. I can also structure lessons around specific topics or needs, such as homework support or preparation for other courses.

Perfect! My son had his first lesson with Ninelle and found it very interesting and engaging. He found her easy to understand and liked the structure of the lesson. Although I am not Swedish, my husband is, and we all had a call with Ninelle beforehand. We were very pleased with her. She is kind, easy to talk to, and creates a relaxed, positive atmosphere. We will definitely continue with her.
