About Ariane
Bonjour à tous! I am a French-Belgian student at the London School of Economics (LSE) in London. Completing my MSc in Global Political Economy this year, I have travelled around the world and graduated from SciencesPo Paris last year. My exchange year at the University of Tokyo as well as my passion for East Asian languages made me eager to see more of this world. I enjoy meeting new people and look forward to learning French with you!
Although it would be the first time for me to be paid as a tutor, I have been teaching mathematics on a voluntary basis in the past (last years of high school). During my academic exchange in Japan, I participated in many language exchange programmes as well! Besides, I have learned no less than 6 languages and worked in Italian, English, French and Japanese. I believe that these experiences shaped my perception of language learning, providing me with the potential to become an effective and understanding language tutor.

I am convinced that language learning is mostly input. Grammar of course, as well as extensive vocabulary, are important. But nothing replaces exposure to the real language. It is therefore important to me to put new-learned grammar into practice with concrete situations as soon as possible. I also like to emphasise the role of cultural supports, such as music or literature in the learning process: as they attach a context to words and grammar structures they can prove to be very useful material! Finally, when it comes to speaking and writing, confidence is key. That is why I want my lessons to be a safe space for students, no matter their level of proficiency. Students of all ages and levels are welcome!
