About Yongwei

Hello everyone. My name is Yongwei which means ‘smile forever’ in Chinese. You can also call me weiwei.:) I like listening to music and watch movies. I enjoy learning languages because I think that when you learn a language, you’re not only learn the language itself but also discovering a different culture and a different way of thinking. I’m currently living in the US. I hope I can help more people learn Chinese and also help them learn more about Chinese culture.:)

About the lesson

Teaching method and techniques Teaching method: 1, Phonetic Alphabet Method. Focuses on teaching the pronunciation of Chinese by studying pinyin. Helping students pronounce Chinese accurately. 2, Situational Language Teaching. Help students learn and practice Chinese in different scenarios, such as restaurant phrases, travel vocabulary, shopping expressions, etc. Techniques: 1. Design the teaching plan based on student’s needs and learning process. Different students have different needs and are at different levels. I can make an individualized study plan based on their specific needs. 2.Using different resources. Teaching students with textbooks and videos, audios and images. To enhance students comprehension and improve interest. 3. Teaching students the culture background of Chinese language. Introducing them Chinese festivals, culture, customs. A typical lesson plan Lesson introduction (5-10mins) Review previous lessons and discuss today’s learning topic. Teaching new content (15-20mins) Teach pinyin, vocabulary, grammar and conversational phrases. Practice (15-20mins) Practice the new content by making new sentences and role playing. Sharing culture (5-10mins) Share Chinese culture with Chinese students. Improving their interests and helping them understand more about the language and its culture background. Review and Homework(5-10mins) Review the vocabulary and grammar from this class again, and assign a short homework task to help students practice more after class.
