My mother taught me to read notes when I was 7. I had piano lessons for two years in junior high. The rest of my life, I have loved playing piano, but I lacked the technique and discipline to produce really pretty music. When I met Gus and heard the beautiful colors he produced on the piano, I was so grateful for the opportunity to get some training from him. He has showed me how to develop phrasing, accuracy and dynamics to make the music I produce so much more worth listening to. But the most important thing he has done for me is show me and push me to practice correctly. The steps he taught me helped me get more out of my practice and get the music in my hands that really sounds like music. I have been able to memorize more music than I ever did before. Gus Zdanovich has been my piano teacher for about three years. He is a talented pianist and teacher who is most knowledgeable in classical and contemporary music. His love of music and passion for playing the piano is obvious.
It is sometimes difficult for me to practice as often as I should and also, one could say, I am musically challenged. To help with this, Gus offers different techniques or suggestions and always spends extra time with me on all of my lessons. I am enjoying learning how to play the piano.
