About Laura

Hi! I’m Laura, a native Spanish and Catalan speaker and a qualified teacher with over 12 years of international teaching experience. I have taught in Spain, Finland and the United States and have worked in international education in Ireland and India, which has given me the opportunity to work with students from many different cultures and backgrounds.

I am passionate about languages, education and connecting with people from around the world. I speak English fluently (C1), as well as Finnish (B1) and Italian (A2), so I understand first-hand both the challenges and rewards of learning a new language.

I am a friendly, patient and encouraging teacher, and I want my students to feel comfortable and confident from the very first lesson. I believe learning Spanish should be enjoyable, practical and connected to real life. I look forward to meeting you and helping you achieve your Spanish goals!

About the lesson

My lessons are practical, engaging and adapted to each student’s level, interests and goals. I believe that the best way to learn a language is to use it, so I encourage students to speak Spanish from the very beginning, while providing clear explanations and support whenever needed.

A typical lesson combines conversation, vocabulary, pronunciation and grammar with practical activities based on real-life situations. Depending on your goals, we can also work on reading, writing, listening comprehension or specific areas where you would like to improve. I always adapt the pace and materials to the individual student rather than following the same method for everyone.

What sets me apart is my extensive international classroom experience and my understanding of what it feels like to learn and communicate in another language. As well as being a native Spanish and Catalan speaker, I speak English (C1), Finnish (B1) and Italian (A2), so I understand many of the challenges language learners experience.

My lessons are suitable for different levels, from beginners who are taking their first steps in Spanish to students who already speak the language and want to improve their fluency, pronunciation or confidence.

Most importantly, I want my students to feel comfortable. Making mistakes is a natural part of learning a language, and my goal is to create a positive environment where you can enjoy learning, ask questions and gradually become more confident using Spanish in real-life situations.
