About Jose

I am a third year undergraduate student at University College London. Both my parents are from La Paz, Bolivia -where I travel to at least once a year. I have also spent a significant time in Spain where I have assimilated Spanish culture (primarily Andalusian!). At home, my family speak in Spanish and we practice Hispanic culture ranging from dancing "caporales" and "salsa" to playing football as well as enjoying Paellas and Salteñas!

About the lesson

-1 hour per lesson
- I believe in active participation from the student meaning that I focus on conversing in Spanish rather than overly-structural textbooks
- this provides the student with the ability to have a better chance at having a realistic conversation in Spanish rather than generic sentences such as "I went to the park with my friends" or "I like to play football"
- reading short articles/ books in Spanish is also integral
- students aiming to learn Spanish as a second language or GCSE would most benefit i.e. ages 5-16
- for keener & long-term students, I look to tie in Spanish & Latino culture into the lessons
