About Ana María

I’m from Costa Rica, and I’m currently living in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Living abroad has made me appreciate even more how languages can bring people together, help us understand different cultures, and create meaningful connections.

I’m a very curious person who loves learning, sharing experiences, and connecting with people from different backgrounds. With my background in Psychology, I also enjoy understanding how people learn and helping them feel comfortable and confident in the process. I want to teach Spanish because I love my language and culture, and I would love to share them with others. For me, teaching is not just about grammar and vocabulary; it’s about helping people communicate, discover new opportunities, and feel confident expressing themselves. I hope to make learning Spanish a positive experience that you genuinely enjoy!

About the lesson

I am a native Spanish speaker from Costa Rica with a degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Health Psychology. I have two years of experience teaching A1 Spanish at a language institute, where I have supported students in developing their basic language skills and confidence. I am currently completing an international training course in teaching Spanish as a foreign language with Instituto Cervantes to continue developing my teaching skills.

My background in Psychology helps me bring patience, empathy, and understanding into my lessons. I enjoy creating a friendly and supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and learning at their own pace. I believe that everyone can learn a language with the right support, practice, and motivation, and I look forward to helping students reach their personal goals in Spanish.

"Ana Maria is an awesome Spanish teacher! She’s from Costa Rica, and she didn't just help me learn the language—she really got me hooked on Costa Rican culture and the vibe of other Spanish-speaking countries. Her classes are super fun, relaxed, and always the highlight of my week. If you're looking for a teacher who brings great energy and makes learning feel natural, she's definitely your person."
