About Alejandra
My name is Alejandra, and I am a Spanish teacher trained at the Instituto Caro y Cuervo, one of Latin America's most respected institutions for Hispanic linguistics and language studies. This academic foundation gives me a deep, well-rounded understanding of Spanish — its grammar, structure, and cultural richness — which I bring into every lesson I teach.
I believe meaningful learning happens when students feel genuinely connected to what they're studying. That's why I go beyond traditional teaching methods and integrate content creation into my practice.
My goal in every class is simple: to create a space where students feel supported, understood, and motivated to keep improving — whether they're just starting out or working toward fluency.
Outside the classroom, I'm someone who is constantly seeking growth, both personally and professionally. I enjoy reading, playing soccer, and spending quality time with the people I love. These same values — curiosity, discipline, and genuine care for others — are what I bring into my teaching, and what I hope students feel in every lesson we share.
I look forward to helping you reach your goals in Spanish, one class at a time.

I believe language is best learned through real, everyday context rather than memorizing isolated rules. That's why I build each class around real-life scenarios that feel familiar and relevant to my students — ordering food, navigating a job interview, describing a trip, discussing current events, or handling everyday conversations they're likely to encounter. This approach helps grammar and vocabulary stick because students see immediately how the language is actually used, not just how it's structured on paper.
A typical class starts with a short warm-up conversation to review previous material and ease into Spanish naturally. From there, we dive into the day's real-context scenario or topic, introducing new grammar or vocabulary as it's needed to complete a practical task — like a role-play, a short reading, or a guided discussion. I balance structured practice (grammar drills, pronunciation, listening exercises) with open conversation, so students build both accuracy and confidence. Each lesson closes with a quick recap and light homework or practice suggestions to reinforce what we covered.
My background is rooted in formal, high-level training: I hold a diploma from the Instituto Caro y Cuervo, one of the most respected institutions in Latin America for Hispanic linguistics and language studies. This gives me a strong academic foundation in how Spanish actually works — grammar, phonetics, regional variation — which I combine with a practical, student-centered teaching style. I don't just teach the language; I help students understand the cultural context behind it, so what they learn actually transfers to real conversations with real people.
My lessons are designed for a wide range of learners:
Complete beginners who want a solid foundation from day one
Intermediate to advanced students looking to build fluency and confidence in conversation
Students preparing for exams (such as DELE) who need structured, goal-oriented practice
Professionals who need Spanish for work — business meetings, emails, presentations
Travelers or expats who want practical, everyday Spanish for real situations
Whatever your starting point or goal, I adapt the pace, content, and focus of each class to match where you are and where you want to go.
Alejandra.
