About Leon

Hi everyone, I’m Leon! I’m a native Mandarin speaker from Taiwan and a Master’s graduate from the University of Bristol. I’m currently living in the UK while working at Marks & Spencer. I enjoy making friends, helping others, and sharing my language and culture. My previous experience teaching Mandarin to my landlord in the UK gave me the opportunity to see how learners benefit from practical phrases and cultural context. I’m patient, organised, and always focused on helping students find a learning style that suits them best. I know from my own experience learning English that a new language can be challenging. That’s why I aim to guide my students step by step, so they feel supported, motivated, and confident in their progress.

About the lesson

My lessons are flexible and personalised for each student. I always begin by understanding your goals, whether that’s improving daily conversation, preparing for travel, studying for exams, or exploring Taiwanese culture. Based on your needs, I create a structured plan that focuses on real-life usage and practical communication. In class, we’ll use a mix of conversation, vocabulary building, grammar explanation, and cultural insights. I like to bring in examples from daily life, stories, and even topics that match your personal interests, so learning feels relevant and engaging. Most importantly, my lessons are designed to help you achieve your individual goals while keeping the process enjoyable and encouraging. Together, we’ll make steady progress step by step.
