About Haiyan

Hello! I’m Haiyan, a native Mandarin Chinese teacher from Beijing with over 900 online Chinese lessons taught to students from different countries and backgrounds.

I specialize in **spoken Chinese, HSK preparation, practical Chinese for daily life, and Chinese for work and business.**

I also provide **personalized Chinese tutoring for middle school, high school, and university students**. I use students’ school textbooks, class materials, and homework assignments to help them review vocabulary and grammar, understand difficult topics, prepare for tests, and improve their speaking skills. My lessons are designed to support their school curriculum, strengthen their foundation, and help them become more confident using Chinese.

Before becoming a full-time Chinese teacher, I worked in **international trade, import-export, and purchasing**, so my Business Chinese lessons are based on practical workplace situations rather than textbook language alone.

I graduated from the **Central Academy of Fine Arts** with a degree in Environmental Art Design and have studied Chinese calligraphy and traditional Chinese painting since childhood. I enjoy bringing Chinese culture into my lessons when it helps students understand the language more naturally.

**Standard rate: $35 per hour (60 minutes).**

Individual lessons are available, with no package purchase required.

Discounted lesson packages are also available for students who prefer to book multiple lessons in advance.

**Free first lesson: 1 hour (60 minutes)

During the first session, we'll discuss your learning goals, assess your current Chinese level, and create a personalized learning plan.

For school students, parents are welcome to share their child's textbooks, class materials, and learning goals in advance so I can tailor the lessons to their school curriculum.
