About Zihan

I’m a passionate and dedicated Mandarin tutor who believes language is a bridge to deeper cultural understanding. As a native speaker with a Level 1-B Putonghua Proficiency Certificate and a background in Broadcasting and Hosting, I offer clear, accurate pronunciation and expressive communication. Currently pursuing a Master’s in Applied Linguistics at the University of Queensland, I bring both academic insight and practical teaching experience to my lessons. My goal is to help more international learners discover the beauty of Mandarin and Chinese culture—whether they’re preparing for travel, seeking conversational fluency, or simply curious about the language. About the lesson

I design my Mandarin lessons around real-life communication scenarios, using full Chinese immersion to help learners rapidly improve their listening and speaking skills. Each class recreates everyday situations—such as ordering food, making small talk, or navigating public transport—so students can build confidence and fluency in practical contexts. Lessons are 60 minutes long and fully conducted in Mandarin, with clear scaffolding to support learners at any level. I adjust my teaching techniques based on the learner’s age, goals, and proficiency, integrating role play, pronunciation correction, and vocabulary expansion. My approach is interactive, student-centered, and focused on natural language use. As a native Mandarin speaker with a Level 1-B Putonghua Proficiency Certificate and a bachelor’s degree in Broadcasting and Hosting, I bring both linguistic precision and expressive clarity to my teaching. I’m currently completing a Master’s in Applied Linguistics at the University of Queensland, and I have over three years of tutoring experience across diverse age groups—from young children to adult learners. My lessons are suitable for all ages and levels, whether you're a complete beginner, preparing for exams, or looking to refine your accent and conversational skills.
