About Sean
I am a native Mandarin speaker, a graduate student, and a teacher-in-training with more than two years of experience working as a Math and English tutor. My tutoring experience has taught me how to explain unfamiliar concepts clearly, recognize where a student is struggling, and adapt my approach to different learners.
I also have plenty of experience as a language learner myself. Having learned English from the ground up and become fluent, I understand both the challenges and the rewards of learning a new language. I know that what seems self-explanatory to a native speaker may not be obvious at all to a learner.

Whether you are starting from zero, studying Chinese at school, or simply want to become more proficient speaking Mandarin, I can adapt the lessons to your needs.
As a native Mandarin speaker who is fluent in English, I have also been a language learner myself. I know what it is like to learn a new language from the very beginning and gradually work toward fluency/advanced literacy. This experience helps me understand the difficulties language learners may face.
Depending on your goals, we can work on conversation, pronunciation and tones, grammar, reading, and writing. I can explain difficult concepts clearly in English when needed.
