About Seoyoung

Hi! I’m Seoyoung, a native Korean speaker and Korean tutor with 3 years of teaching experience.

I’ve taught Korean to English-speaking students in Australia, working with learners from complete beginners to advanced levels. I’ve also had students who continued learning with me for several years, which has given me experience supporting learners not only at the beginning of their Korean journey, but also as their skills develop over time.

I also have experience as a university tutor, and I enjoy creating a patient and supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes.

As someone who enjoys traveling, discovering new places, and hearing about other people’s experiences, I especially enjoy using real-life topics and conversation to make Korean more meaningful and enjoyable.

My goal is to help you become more confident and comfortable using Korean, whether you’re learning for travel, everyday communication, Korean friends, culture, or personal interest.

About the lesson

My lessons are mainly conversation-focused, but I tailor each class to your level, goals, and learning style.

Depending on what you need, we can focus on speaking, pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing, or exam preparation. For complete beginners, I start with Hangul, pronunciation, basic vocabulary, and simple sentences before gradually building up.

I use materials such as Sejong Institute textbooks, Korean children’s storybooks, and school or exam-preparation materials, depending on the student. I can also work with your own textbook or learning materials.

I currently offer in-person lessons in Montréal and online lessons across Canada, with flexible scheduling to suit your availability.

Whether you’re starting from zero or looking to improve your existing Korean, I’ll create lessons around what you want to achieve and help you develop practical Korean skills with confidence. My goal is for you to leave each lesson feeling that you’ve learned something useful and made real progress.
