About Aiko

Hajimemashite! My name is Aiko. I’m biracial, born in Japan, and passionate about teaching languages. I speak Japanese, English, and Portuguese, and I’m currently learning Chinese. Having learned multiple languages myself, I understand the challenges of the process and believe that patience and persistence make progress possible. My goal as a teacher is to help students overcome barriers and reach their goals. I use images, real-life texts, and videos to make learning easier and more enjoyable. I hope to make your learning journey pleasant. I’ve been teaching Japanese on other platforms for about two years, and I’m excited to be new here. I also have experience with translation, including doctor’s appointments, books, documents, and more.

About the lesson

What to Expect in My Lessons
• I use my own materials with real japanese conversations
• Lessons include real Japanese phrases used in daily life.
• I customize lessons based on your goals—JLPT, scholarships, anime, or just for fun.
• The lesson will be in Japanese, as much as possible.

For Beginners
• We start with Hiragana.
• As you learn, we’ll cover basic grammar and vocabulary using the characters you've mastered.

If You Already Know Hiragana
• We’ll begin learning Kanji.
• I teach Kanji by breaking it down, using colors, explaining origins, and creating stories to help you remember.
• You’ll learn how to use Kanji in phrases and grammar.
• Each class includes at least two grammar points you can use right away.

At the End of Each Lesson
- I’ll ask you questions in Japanese based on what we learned.
- You’ll be able to answer in Japanese by the end of class :)
- Once you reach N5 level, we can also learn through anime, manga, and music!

Perfect! Aiko is fantastic! I highly recommend her to anyone starting to learn Japanese. She has been so patient and kind from our first lesson to now! I already feel like I've learned more from her in these last 2 months then I would have in 6 months of just self study.

Even when I ask the same question over and over again, she always takes the time to explain everything clearly. She creates a very friendly and comfortable environment to learn, I've been very happy with her as my tutor 10/10 :)

She’s kind, always completes her homework, and takes the initiative to review everything on her own, which really shows that she is comitted.
