I am Josh, a native Japanese speaker and an NYU student with prior teaching experience in mathematics and language-focused instruction. I approach tutoring with patience, structure, and clear communication, ensuring students feel supported as they build confidence in a new language. About the lesson

My approach as a tutor is structured, patient, and focused on building real understanding rather than rote memorization. As a native Japanese speaker, I emphasize clear explanations in English while gradually increasing exposure to natural Japanese, so students feel supported without being overwhelmed. I focus on grammar foundations, pronunciation, and practical vocabulary, while encouraging students to start speaking early to build confidence.
