About Erminda
I am a native Italian teacher with a PGCE (Post Graduate Certification of Education) in Modern Foreign Languages (Italian, French,and Spanish) for Secondary Schools and a Qualified Teacher Status. .
I also hold a certificate of teaching Italian to adults issued by the International House in London.
In addition to the above, I also speak fluently French and English and I hold a BA (hons) degree in French with Arts and Humanities.
I love teaching languages as it is a wonderful way of enriching people's lives. Currently I am focussing on teaching Italian in order to offer my students a more targeted and specialised learning experience in my native language. I work with teenagers and adults of all levels.

Italian
I teach all levels of Italian, from beginner to advanced . These include also preparation for GCSE and A-Level exams, as well as for CILS certifications (Certification of Italian as a Foreign Language), as the B1 Citizenship exam for those applying for Italian citizenship and the language certifications required for admission to Italian universities.
My lessons are based on a mixture of learning techniques, among which are an effective and practical introduction to grammar rules in the context of a topic; effective sequencing of learning avoiding cognitive overload; gradual acquisition of vocabulary by topic; learning reading, writing and speaking skills by gradual steps, and use of educational games, as role plays and interactive games. I can also leave homework to consolidate class learning. For more advanced students, I offer personalised lessons based on individual interests and objectives, such as conversation classes which can also be supported by authentic materials (newspaper articles, literary texts, songs, videos, etc.), helping to expand vocabulary and deepen understanding of Italian culture.
