About Camilla

Ciao! First of all, I am going to introduce myself. My name is Camilla, I am 20 years old and I am from Italy, Rome. I have always loved the city from which I come and perhaps this factor has made me look more at history, art and literature of Italy. Since September 2017, I am studying fashion management at the UAL university (London College of Fashion). I have some free time during the week and I want to occupy this time doing the thing I like the most: teaching my language. Since high school, I always loved learning Italian literature and grammar. That’s because I have always thought that knowing the origins of your native language is essential. Studying Latin in high school helped me find out the origin of all Italian words and improve my writing and speaking skills. In my home country, I had various experiences in this field. In fact, I was teaching Italian to refugees in my school: in this case, since no one knew the language I had to start from a low level teaching all the principles of Italian grammar: accents, verbs, adjectives, .. My second experience has been a volunteer programme in Romania where I taught Italian in a primary school. Children knew the language so the lessons were focused more on fun exercises for socialising but learning new things at the same time. In addition, during the high school period, I was the tutor of some family’s friends for doing homework and helping them with all the primary and middle school subjects. The reason why I have chosen to become a tutor in London is because in today’s time it is really important to know languages. My experiences with both children and adults will permit you to choose which kind of lessons you want: from the basic grammar to the Italian literature. I am free for online lessons as well, so in case my timetable does not fit yours we can arrange online lessons.
