About Elena
I’m Elena and I’m a young Italian living abroad! While I have lived in Italy many years, I actually grew up abroad, which gave me a good understanding of other cultures and languages. It’s because of my upbringing that I understand the struggles of language barriers and wanting to understand others, which is why I’ve now been helping people learn my native language for 5 years. It’s hard struggling to communicate effectively, and I am extremely empathetic of that, and wish to help others in feeling comfortable AND confident speaking in Italian. Whether you’re a true beginner or nearly fluent, I can help! I tailor each class to the individual. Whether you want to practise introductions or discuss the latest Italian news, I am available to assist in nearly anything Italian related. I studied Social Science with a minor In Sociology but changed paths in my final year, as I decided to pursue art! A bit of a crazy path, but I am an artist at heart. I’m extremely creative and I enjoy finding different perspectives and approaches in life, as well as meeting a wide variety of people. I have mainly tutored children in Italian but I’m slowly widening my tutoring to people of all ages and levels.

I offer a judgement-free zone where people can practise their conversation and comprehension skills without worrying about their level, fluency or other normal concerns. I tailor each lesson to people’s comfort, anxieties, and work one on one with clients to figure out their strengths and weaknesses. I like helping others improve while offering a space where they can feel at ease! I welcome all levels and all people, no matter how much or little Italian you know. I am also willing to assist with homework, papers, translations, writing, and teaching the basics of grammar and literature
