My Teaching Methods and Techniques Learning :
Linguistic immersion: I favor total immersion in French during sessions, avoiding the use of English as much as possible.
Interaction: I constantly encourage students to express themselves in French, whether through discussions, role-playing or presentations.
Listening and Pronunciation: I use songs, videos and audios to improve listening comprehension and pronunciation.
I also personalize my teaching:
- At the start of each lesson, I assess the student's level, needs, desires and interests.
It's important when learning a new language to deal with subjects that interest you.
- I define clear and achievable learning objectives for each student.
- I use educational videos and games to make learning fun.
- I select books, articles and writing activities adapted to the age and level of the student.
A typical lesson plan
Introduction (5-10 minutes):
Welcome and Recap: Discussion of the previous week's activities and recap of previous lessons.
Objectives of the day : Presentation of session objectives.
Vocabulary activity (10-15 minutes) :
New words: Introduction of new words and expressions using cards, pictures or interactive games (depending on the age of the student).
Revision: Revision of previously learned vocabulary through exercises and games.
Oral and written comprehension (15-20 minutes):
Listening to dialogues, songs or videos, followed by comprehension questions (depending on the age of the student).
Reading: Reading of a short text or story adapted to the student's age, with comprehension questions.
Oral and Written Expression (15-20 minutes):
Discussion: Discussion on a given topic or role-play to encourage oral expression.
Homework: Assignment of small tasks for the next session.
Feedback: Asking students for feedback on what they liked or found difficult.
Personal experience: Having gone through the learning process myself but in English, I share tips and effective techniques that have helped me make learning another language more practical.
