About Ella

Hi! I'm a native French speaker, born and raised in France, and have been bilingual in French and English since childhood. I studied the International Baccalaureate, graduating with 44 out of 45 points, which placed me in the top 1% of students worldwide, including 7 out of 7 points in Higher Level French and Higher Level English Literature. I also have a First Class BA in an essay based subject from the University of Manchester.
I am incredibly passionate about linguistics and believe that confidence is at the core of any successful language-learning journey. My aim is to combine my deep understanding of language with friendliness and approachability, in order to create a rigorous but fun environment, where students feel able to make mistakes, and learn from them!
My unique selling point as a tutor is the combination of my native French heritage, and excellent academic background - meaning your foundations will be strong, but you will build a genuine and natural understanding of French language and culture that you certainly won't get from a textbook!

About the lesson

I build lessons from a combination of my strong academic background and native understanding of French language and culture.
I graduated from the International Baccalaureate with 44 out of 45 points, placing me in the top 1% of students worldwide. I scored full marks — 7/7 — in Higher Level French Language, so I know the exam syllabuses well and can help with IB, GCSE, A Level, and Scottish Highers.
I also specialise in conversation and accent work — helping students actually sound French, understand French culture, and natural ways of speaking.
