About Kim

Hi, I’m a native English speaker from the United States with more than 20 years of professional experience in social services and community-focused work.

Throughout my career, clear communication has been at the center of what I do. I’ve worked in environments where people needed to communicate calmly and clearly during interviews, appointments, meetings, and other high-pressure situations.

When it really counts, I know that practice and preparation are central to success.

Today, I help English learners build confidence for real-life communication in the U.S. My lessons focus on practical English for work, everyday conversations, appointments, forms, and professional interactions.

I’m especially passionate about helping students who feel nervous speaking English in important situations. As someone currently learning Spanish myself, I understand how frustrating it can feel when you know what you want to say but struggle to express it naturally.

My teaching style is patient, supportive, and judgment-free. I focus on helping students feel more comfortable, confident, and understood when using English in everyday life.

What We Can Work On:

Everyday English for Reading & Communication

Many everyday situations in the U.S. involve formal or unfamiliar English.

Together, we can practice:
* reading emails and written instructions
* understanding common workplace or office language
* responding clearly in writing
* asking questions when something is unclear
* explaining situations in simple, natural English

Real-Life Conversation Practice

We can role-play everyday conversations so you feel more prepared and confident speaking English in real situations.

This may include:
* making phone calls
* asking questions during appointments
* speaking with your child’s teacher
* handling day-to-day interactions in English

Lessons focus on spoken practice, repetition, and building confidence in real-time communication.

Interviews & Workplace English

If you have a job interview coming up, we can practice common questions until your answers feel more natural and confident.

We can also practice workplace communication, including:
* participating in meetings
* expressing ideas clearly
* writing professional emails
* preparing for presentations
* handling difficult conversations at work
