About Luke

I am a native English speaker currently based in South Africa, with a strong international background. I have lived in the Netherlands and have close ties to Portugal through my family, which has given me valuable exposure to different cultures, languages, and ways of learning. This experience allows me to better understand the challenges students face when learning English and to adapt my teaching style to suit different needs.
I use English daily in professional environments, including business communication with international clients. This has helped me develop clear, effective communication skills and a strong understanding of how English is used in real-world situations. I bring this practical knowledge into my lessons so students can learn how to use English naturally and confidently.
My teaching style is structured, supportive, and focused on results. I aim to create a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable, motivated, and encouraged to improve. I focus on building a strong foundation in grammar, speaking, and understanding, while also helping students gain confidence in using English in everyday situations.
I am patient, reliable, and committed to each student’s progress. I take the time to understand individual goals and adapt lessons to match their level and learning style. My goal is to help every student reach a level where they can communicate clearly, confidently, and effectively in English.

About the lesson

My teaching approach focuses on real-world English that students can use in everyday life. I combine speaking practice, grammar, and understanding so students can both speak and understand English with confidence. I use simple explanations, interactive exercises, and fun activities to keep lessons engaging and easy to follow.
A typical lesson starts with a quick review, followed by learning new vocabulary or grammar, and then practicing through conversation and real-life examples. I also include short tests to track progress and make sure students are improving.
What sets me apart is my focus on practical English and my international background, which helps me understand different learners and cultures.
My lessons are suitable for beginners to intermediate students, as well as anyone who wants to improve their speaking, grammar, and confidence in English.
