About Vivian

I am a native English speaker (mother is Filipino, father is Kiwi). I work as a Licensed Immigration Adviser and volunteer with a variety of local non-profit groups including ESOL tutoring. My qualifications consist of a Master's of Psychology, a Graduate Diploma in New Zealand Immigration Advice and I am currently completing a Master's of Public Policy. I am also trying to learn Mandarin Chinese, so I understand how difficult it can be to learn a second language. My previous experience is in one-on-one tutoring with migrants, refugees, and high school students.

About the lesson

Happy to cater to your learning style either in home tutoring or meeting in a public place. Some students prefer to work from text books on their grammar, while others prefer to practice conversational English while exploring Christchurch. I typically offer one hour lessons. Prefer to tutor adults in ESOL at all levels from beginner, intermediate and advanced University level proof-reading.

I have an NZQA Certificate in ESOL Home Tutoring and I am currently completing the TEFL Level 5 Diploma.

Perfect! I had English lessons with Vivian for a few months during my time in Christchurch. She did a great job in giving me a deeper understanding of the English language.
The lessons were good to understand and on a nice basis that made it fun to learn. We had some lessons in different places, a cafe, Vivian's house and the last one in a bar to focus on the beer culture in New Zealand. She can prepare good lessons on the topics you want or make lessons on different topics perfect for your English level.
I can recommend Vivian as a tutor if you want to improve your English skills and get a deeper understanding of the English language.
