About Li

Hi, I’m Lea, a native Mandarin speaker from China. I’ve been teaching Chinese online for over a year, and I’ve had students from different countries and backgrounds.

I love traveling, hiking and dancing, and I’ve spent a lot of time exploring different countries and cultures. I’ve traveled around Europe several times and recently finished a three-month backpacking trip around Europe. I also volunteered in the Czech Republic, where I taught Chinese to local students.

I speak English fluently, so I can explain grammar, vocabulary or cultural differences in English when needed. I also have a master’s degree in engineering and several years of experience working for an international company.

I’m easy to talk to, and I want you to feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and speaking Chinese. Whether you’re learning Chinese for travel, work, everyday life or just because you’re interested in China, I’d love to help you make real progress while enjoying the conversation.

About the lesson

Whether you’re just starting Chinese or already know quite a bit but struggle to put your thoughts into words, my lessons focus on helping you speak more naturally and confidently.

We usually start with a short conversation or a topic that interests you. As we talk, I’ll correct your pronunciation and grammar, introduce useful vocabulary, even slangs, and show you more natural ways to say things. If you get stuck, I’ll help you work out how to express what you mean and explain why a certain expression sounds more natural.

For beginners, we can work on pinyin, pronunciation, simple sentences and everyday conversation.
If you already have a foundation, we can focus more on speaking naturally, understanding how native speakers actually talk, and using the Chinese you already know in real conversations.
For more advanced learners, we can have deeper conversations about travel, daily life, work, culture and whatever you’re interested in.

Most importantly, you’ll have plenty of time to speak and practice putting the things you already know into words.
