About Qunwei

I am a postgraduate student at Victoria University of Wellington. My native language is Mandarin, and I can also speak English, Cantonese, Korean, and Thai.
When teaching Mandarin, I prepare tailored lesson materials for students at different stages, so that each class is relevant to their learning level. I always try to make my lessons lively and engaging, rather than monotonous.
As a teacher, I am punctual, responsible, and committed to helping my students make progress step by step.
I believe learning languages allows us to understand the world better and explore different cultures; moreover, it enables us to make many friends. I look forward to supporting your Mandarin learning journey!

About the lesson

I will create a personalised learning plan based on your current Chinese proficiency level. My focus will be on improving your Mandarin speaking, reading, listening, and writing skills step by step through regular practice.

For example, we will cover practical scenarios such as ordering food in a restaurant and navigating public transportation. Language learning is a gradual process that improves through consistent practice. In each lesson, it won’t just be me talking — instead, I’ll encourage as much interaction as possible so you can actively use the language.

My rate includes the preparation of customized lesson slides, which I create for each class based on the student’s level and needs. After every lesson, I will send the slides to the student for revision and practice.

Please note that the rate does not cover any transportation costs in the case of in-person lessons at the student’s home. If an in-person session is requested, a small additional fee may apply to cover travel expenses.
