About Anne

My name is Anne, and I’m a native Chinese speaker from China, currently living in Melbourne, Australia. I’ve been here for 8 years and am fluent in both Chinese and English. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, and since my university internship, I’ve worked closely with people from diverse cultural backgrounds, age groups, and abilities. This experience has helped me develop strong communication skills, cultural sensitivity, and a great deal of patience — all of which I bring into my language teaching. While I may not have a formal degree in language education, I truly enjoy helping others learn Chinese and become confident using it in real-life situations. I’ve personally experienced what it’s like to arrive in a new country and start learning a language from scratch — it can feel overwhelming and isolating. At that time, I deeply wished for someone who could speak English with me and help me bridge the language and cultural gap. That’s exactly what I hope to offer you now — a supportive and understanding partner who will walk alongside you on your Chinese learning journey. Whether you're a complete beginner or looking to improve your pronunciation, vocabulary, daily conversation, or cultural understanding, I’m here to support you. I can also explain grammar and sentence patterns clearly in English whenever needed. Let’s make learning Chinese enjoyable together!

About the lesson

Hi! This is Anne, a native Chinese speaker currently living in Melbourne, Australia. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and over the years I’ve worked with people from many different cultures, age groups, and abilities.

My Chinese lessons are mainly for beginners or anyone who wants to improve their speaking, listening, or understanding of daily Chinese. I welcome adults and teenagers, and I can adjust the lesson content based on your learning goals.

I focus on practical, conversation-based learning. I’ll help you speak naturally and confidently by using real-life topics, role-play, and vocabulary building. I can also explain grammar and sentence patterns clearly in English if needed.

My lessons are typically 30 minutes to 1 hour long and are held online in Melbourne.

I know what it’s like to start learning a new language in a foreign country — I’ve been there myself. That’s why I aim to make my classes patient, encouraging, and practical. I look forward to learning with you!
