About Sophie

I am a native Chinese speaker currently studying at university in Canada, which allows me to clearly explain Chinese concepts in English and understand the challenges English-speaking learners often face. Having learned and lived in different cultural environments, I am familiar with cross-cultural communication and learning styles. I focus on clarity, patience, and building confidence, especially for students who feel nervous about speaking. I take a structured yet flexible approach to teaching and aim to create a supportive and comfortable learning environment where students can progress at their own pace.

About the lesson

My lessons are designed for students with different goals, whether you want to travel, work, study, or simply understand Chinese more deeply.

I teach practical conversation, natural expressions, and cultural context, including both modern and traditional Chinese culture. I also offer Business Chinese and exam-focused lessons when needed.

I am a patient and supportive teacher, especially for students who feel nervous about speaking. Lessons are fully customized and progress at a comfortable pace.
